Crow and Raven have become interchangeable over time. They hold a powerful medicine of magic.
Ravens are powerful spirit-beings, who excel in astral-travel, uncovering truths, shape-shifting and trickery, working magic, and the mysteries of death. They are the familiars of witches and shamans, for ravens are the teachers of magic, spirit travel, and healing.

As the Creator, Raven is master of all the Elements, and is a symbol of power of Mind when yoked with a deep understanding of the essentials of Spirit.

As Trickster, Raven's cunning deceits lead invariably to wisdom: for the mind must sometimes be tricked in order to get a truer view.
As the Messenger of Death, Raven acts as the Guide of Souls, through the vast expanses of the Other World. Therefore Raven bears the knowledge of the Dead, and may be tempted into revealing this information to those who honour and befriend this Black Bird of Death.

They are the very symbols of intellect, cunning, and wisdom. Haunters of battlefields, ravens are linked to death, the battle-slain, and the other world. They are creatures of mystery and the hidden realms. As the most vocal and cunning of birds, with their aerobatic abilities, ravens mirror the knowledge of sound mysteries and the ecstasy of poets and shamans.
They are the highest form of avian evolution on Earth.

They are the gatekeepers to the void of Spirit where there is no form or structure.. So when someone speaks of Raven medicine, it is more easily understood through the intuitive senses and emotions.
It is said that people who carry Raven medicine also carry a heavy responsibility to Spirit. It as if these people have come into this Earth walk in order to help others break through old paradigms and belief systems into a new, more expanded awareness of reality

Raven carries the medicine of magic; it the messenger that carries all energy flows of ceremonial magic between the ceremony itself and the intended destination; is also about shapeshifting and mysticism.

Raven is powerful medicine. Welcome to our roost.

Funny I bought a book once called native astrology in it i was a red raven, is that why i always try to look for the bigger picture not sure what my animal guide is but i do alot of astral traveling & i used to work in the hospital here & was told i was of the angels that i was to help ppl cross over , i know i held many hands as they took their last breathe but the hardest was when the man i loved passed in my arms & i could not save him yet he did not pass alone
anyone know anymore that could help me figure this out?
MANY BLESSINGS
PATTY

lol! I have wondered about that. My most faithful companion was the spirit of a white wolf, which was my shepherds spirit guide but always there. A white owl and my beloved Orca that I really believed swam all the way from the ocean just to visit me. Those memories are so precious to me. And I know i was born and raised in sacred places, isolated from others and given the best education quite uncommon for orphans. There were places of energy there where i used to levitate as a child and......invisible doorways that led to other places where i would disappear and go on great adventures. When I first read the lyon, the witch and the wardrobe i believed it to be a true story. I used to get sick being away from my mountain sisters. This is the first place I have found so similar to my mountains. Much is still preserved and ageless here in the Redwood Rain Forest. I feel so blessed every single day here, just like home.

I FIND THIS VERY FASCINATING. I WAS RAISED BY THE SPIRIT OF AN OLD INDIAN WOMAN IN AN ORPHANAGE BY MT SHASTA, LASSEN AND BALLY. I WAS RAISED IN THE BELLIE OF THE 3 SISTERS. i HEARD OTHERS, IN THE SPIRIT RHELM, OFTEN CALL MY INDIAN MOTHER, MENTOR, GUIDE..A RAVEN. i SAW HER SHAPESHIFT INTO A RAVEN ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. iT WAS THE WHITE BARN OWL THAT WOULD VISIT ME ALWAYS WARNING ME OF CHANGE. THE OTHER TIMES I SAW A CROW OR RAVEN, THAT WAS NOT MY INDIAN MEDICINE WOMAN, IT WAS EERIE, OMINOUS, A WARNING OF SOMETHING BAD ABOUT TO HAPPEN i LOOK FORWARD TO LEARNING MORE. i'VE MET VERY FEW SHAPE SHIFTERS AND ONLY ONE THAT WOULD TURN INTO A CROW

Greetings All -

The raven keeps calling me - I tend to come upon it in reading, whether it's reading cards, doing energy work, and on and on.

I feel fearful of the Raven, though I don't know why. My first thought is that I have issues that need to be resolved with Raven's help, and I'm fighting it.

The Raven is sacred to Native Americans, and I have a deep respect and reverence for the Native American way of life.

Obviously I'm once again being called by Raven, since I stumbled across the group while visiting the site!
